FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I settle the conference fee?

A: Fees can be settled through online payment system in your ECM account (recommended). Payments via bank transfer are also possible, but please make sure to settle ALL bank transfer costs. Payment system will be available from mid-November.

Q: How can I get my invoice?

A: Proforma invoices necessary for bank transfers are available for download in Fee/Registration menu. Regular invoices will be available for download in your ECM account after we receive your payment.

Q: What is included in the participant fee?

A: The fee includes access to all Conference Sessions, Book of Abstracts, Proceedings and other Conference material, coffee breaks and lunch at the hotel, as well as welcome reception. The fee for ECM conference dinner is an additional fee only for participants (not accompanying persons).

Q: What is included in accompanying person fee?

A: Accompanying person fee includes access to ECM social programme: welcome reception and conference dinner. It is not intended for co-authors of submitted abstracts. It is not intended for co-authors of submitted abstracts and ECM2017 can't provide invitation letter for visa purposes to accompanying persons.

Q: How many papers can I submit?

A: The number of papers is not limited. However, papers have to be presented in order to be published in the online Proceedings.

Q: Can I choose between oral and poster presentation?

A: No, papers will be presented only as posters, in accordance with ECM2017 Author guidelines.

Q: Will it be possible to send the posters via e-mail and get it printed by the local organizing team?

A: Yes. You will need to settle the poster fee (make sure to choose that option in the COMET system) and send your posters to ecm2017@adriacombustioninstitute.org at least one week before the conference. You'll be able to pick them up at the registration desk. Posters have to be made according to the Template or following the instructions.

Q: Where will my abstract/paper be published?

A: Abstracts will be published in Book of abstracts that you will receive in your conference bag. Papers that are presented at ECM2017 will be published in online Proceedings. You will, however, keep your copyright and may submit your paper elsewhere for publishing.

Q: What happens if I don't present my paper or do not attend the conference?

A: If you don't present your paper it will not be published in the Proceedings, no exceptions. If you are not going to attend the meeting at all, you can ask for a refund in regards to the cancellation policy.

Q: Is it necessary to submit an abstract?

A: No. You can attend the ECM2017 without submitting an abstract, but you will need to settle the attendance fee (same price as regular fee). However, in that case, we cannot issue you an invitation letter for visa purposes.

Q: Do I need a visa to come to Croatia?

A: Croatia is an EU country, but it’s not yet a part of the Schengen Area. Nonetheless, the visa policy is based on Schengen regime and if you have a valid Schengen visa, you do not need a Croatian visa. See our visa page for more information.

Q: Can you send me an invitation letter since I need a visa to visit Croatia?

A: Yes, we will issue an invitation letter (called Letter of guarantee) to authors only, providing that your abstract has been accepted and that your registration fee has been settled. Please settle your fee on time (deadline is February 20, 2017) and send your request to iva@adriacombustioninstitute.org. More information is available here.
